workshop
- groundworkrunning · session 2 done
A recurring in-person gathering in the Bay Area: part safe-space discussion, part workshop, part community building. It's the second draft of an earlier project called Tech Support, redesigned around what I learned watching that one drift: this time the container itself is the design object. No recordings, no virtual, no audience. Session one had exactly one attendee, which is how these things are supposed to start.
- ritain development · with Enlighten Lab
AI-assisted transcript evaluation for college admissions offices, built with the team at Enlighten Lab. Admissions readers spend hours decoding wildly inconsistent high school transcripts; RITA does the decoding so the reader can do the judging. This is also where the Imprint was born. The first worked example of the methodology lives here.
written up whole in casework - liberties lostprototype · on the bench
A mobile roguelike, currently more systems than game, which is the honest and interesting part. It was designed around a constraint that became its pillar: nothing inside the game is AI; the depth has to come from the systems themselves. So depth got a definition you can test: a greedy bot must lose, with a validator built around it. Not shipped; what's real is the design-under-constraint work, and the pipeline that built it may end up mattering more than the game.
- fieldbasein development
Field service software, starting with the unglamorous parts that actually shape a worker's day: SMS-first onboarding, schedules, the person behind the phone number. The long thread I keep pulling: reputation that belongs to the worker and travels with them, not to whichever company's app they're trapped in this year.
- sameorbitin development
A social connection app built on a simple inversion: you control exactly how findable you are (exact location, city, or country, your call) and the app's job is to get you off it and into the same room as your people. "Open to connections," "join us if you're around," then it hands you off and gets out of the way.
- collapserlive
Collapses a scattering of project email addresses (one per domain, one per hat) into a single Google Workspace inbox, no relay, no middleman, so replying as any address never shows the seam. Design, product, engineering, brand: built alone, start to finish.
